Ingredients for Supreme Pizza Quesadilla:
As always, this is a quick overview of the ingredients you will need. For the complete recipe just keep scrolling.
- Tortillas: regular, gluten free, or low carb
- Italian sausage
- Pepperoni
- Mozzarella cheese
- Bell Pepper
- Red Onion
- Italian seasoning
- Marinara
How do you make Supreme Pizza Quesadillas
- Heat a skillet to medium heat.
- Add a buttered tortilla to the skillet. Top the tortilla with shredded cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, peppers, onions, marinara and Italian seasoning.
- Cook the tortilla 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Fold one side of the tortilla over the filling and flip.
- Remove from the skillet when both sides are golden brown. Slice and serve with warm marinara for dipping.
Tips for the Best Quesadillas
- Don’t over-stuff. If you let the cheese or sauce get too close to the edge, it’ll ooze out while the quesadilla is cooking. The more toppings are inside, the more difficult it can be to flip.
- Keep the skillet on medium heat. If you cook it on high heat, the tortilla will burn before the cheese has a chance to melt. It’s worth the wait!
- Switch up the ingredients. Whatever toppings you love on your pizza should go great in this quesadilla! If you love a pizza with pesto or alfredo sauce, try that instead of the marinara.
Can you make Keto Quesadillas?
You absolutely can make these quesadillas keto-friendly with just a few smart choices! Opt for a low-carb tortilla (like Mission’s Carb Balance tortilla) and find a low-carb marinara sauce (I used Rao’s). Because I made these changes, the net carb count dropped to 7.5 for the entire stuffed quesadilla!
You could also try to use a cheese wrap instead of a tortilla–See this method in this Keto Chicken Fajita Quesadilla recipe.
